Garden of the Gods elopement- Brittany & Michael

I knew from our first phone call that Brittany and Michael were special. For starters- they were so easy to talk to. I still get nervous for every phone call I do, but they made it feel as if we were old friends; and I could tell by the way they talked to each other that they were best friends.

We started their elopement day at their hotel to get a few getting ready and detail shots before heading out to adventure at Garden of the Gods.  Brittany’s family had given her some special items to include in their elopement day including an heirloom bracelet and lace handkerchief. Michael told me about their first house (which they had just bought) and his new job. Brittany and I talked about Disney and the Healthcare system. Brittany’s dress was so beautiful- it made her look like a forest fairy princess.

They opted to do a first look so Michael headed to GOTG and then Brittany and I followed. We found a private spot in GOTG so that they could be alone. Brittany walked down towards her almost husband and he took a deep breathe before turning around. All three of us cried during their first look and vows. Afterwards the couple celebrated with cupcakes and champagne. They took their time to really just sit and soak in and enjoy the fact that they got married.

The weather in Colorado during early May can be super unpredictable. It can be hot, rainy, sometimes even snowy; but for this elopement day the weather was absolutely perfect. A sunny blue sky Colorado day. For the next couple hours we explored Garden of the Gods together taking photos along the way. We talked about everything and nothing. The sun was warm and we had just enough wind to cool us off. I love watching people exclaim over each new view of the mountains. I love Colorado so much and I get so excited to share it with others.

Amazingly- Brittany and Michael had gotten a white mustang convertible as their rental car. We obviously had to include that in their photos! They even had leather jackets and went from being old Hollywood glam to Rocker Barbie and Ken. It was such an incredible day. Overall we spent just over four hours together- but we all agreed it only felt like thirty minutes. That’s the thing about wedding days, they fly by!
