If you're looking to elope in a location that blends natural beauty and small town charm, then Buena Vista, Leadville, and Twin Lakes are perfect! With two mountain passes, multiple 14,000 foot mountains, alpine lakes, and trails for miles, there’s truly something for everyone, from super adventurous to laid back, and everything in between.
Imagine exploring a mountain pass, having a picnic by a lake, and finishing out the day in a hot spring. You can truly have it all in this area!
If you're here, then it probably means an experience straight from the wedding factory isn't really what you're looking for. You want personal, intimate, and anything but cookie cutter for your wedding day.
There is no one "right way" to elope in Colorado. Adventure as much as you want or relax as much as you want. Elopements offer a lot of freedom- go almost anywhere, do almost anything, and that many options can often start to feel overwhelming. I love being able to help take couples from feeling overwhelmed to confidently crafting the day they've been dreaming of- from narrowing down location options to drawing up the perfect day of timeline. Together we'll create a day that makes you stop and think "everyone should get married like this".

I love Colorado, I love our mountains, and I especially love getting to share and experience them with couples on their wedding days. I've lived in Colorado for almost 10 years and I love exploring the mountains- especially the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness. Hiking and car camping are two of my main hobbies, but when I’m home, I love to research. Colorado just has so much to offer- I spend a ton of time on Google Maps and AllTrails doing adventure research, creating lists, and keeping meticulous track of what I find. I want to be that person that knows the mountains. I love being able to recommend the cutest mountain towns and coffee shops and breweries, and I’m always the person that friends text saying “here’s what I’m looking for, what hike should I do?” or "where should I go if I want to see wildflowers?".
Buena Vista, Twin Lakes, and Leadville are some of my favorite parts of the state because they have a little bit of everything- incredible mountain passes, alpine lakes, off roading and hiking trails, rivers, wildflowers, and fall colors.

I will be a trusted friend, encouraging you when necessary, helping when needed, and fading into the background when appropriate. I'll gently keep our timeline on track, be there to help carry trains, pin hair, put in veils, pin on boutonnieres, and straighten collars. Your full gallery will reflect your whole adventure from the big moments to the fleeting in-between.
You don't need to worry about how long things take or the best order to do them in. Whether you're people that love structure or prefer a more go with the flow approach, I'll take all your ideas and put them in a day of timeline that flows seamlessly and allows you two to not feel rushed. Its so important that you get to really experience every moment!

The best time of year to elope in Buena Vista, Twin Lakes, and Leadville
Where to elope in Buena Vista, Twin Lakes, and Leadville
These areas range in elevation from 8000ft to over 12000ft, so there are vastly different types of weather experiences depending on the time of year.
If you're looking to enjoy summer weather, wildflowers, and lots of green, then late June-August is the perfect time. It takes a while for snow to melt at higher elevations, which means months like April- early June can have a lot of mud and leftover snow and many locations are still inaccessible.
This area also has incredible fall colors which tend to show up late September- early October. The aspen trees turn the mountain sides into yellow and orange patchworks that are just as are incredible from afar as when you walk through them.
Locations are a little more limited in winter months, both mountain passes close and many of the backroads aren't plowed, but there are still some great options! The best winter elopement months are going to be December-March.
Twin Lakes:
Independence Pass:
Especially in the summer and fall, this area has almost limitless location options. Many locations are close together allowing the two of you to experience a little bit of everything on your elopement day- from a high mountain pass along the Continental Divide, to an aspen forest, to an alpine lake. There's tons of hiking options, but if that's not really your thing, there's just as many location that only require a little bit of walking.
The lakes themselves are an amazing elopement location. There are spots that have a beach like feel and are super easy to get to, so if you're including guests you don't have to worry about accessibility. The views are hard to beat as you're surrounded by 13ers and 14ers, including the tallest mountain in the state- Mt. Elbert.
Mountain passes are a great way to get incredible views without the work of hiking. Independence Pass sits just above 12,000ft and is known for incredible sweeping views in all directions. This is also one of those rare locations that is amazing at both sunrise and sunset!
