Cheynne Canyon is beautiful. With its many trails, mountain views, creeks, and waterfalls, it has a lot to offer. It is a perfect elopement spot because there’s so many different view points, but no actual hiking required. When Shelby reached out to me to say she and her fiance, Eli, wanted to elope in Colorado and wanted mountain views and a forest feel, I knew this would be the perfect spot.
The couple decided to come from Oklahoma and were joined by their closest friends and family as they exchanged vows and rings. Shelby and I had talked a lot leading up to their big day and by the time we met, I felt like we were already friends. She and Eli had met when they were in high school working at IHOP, and while life took them on different paths, it ultimately brought them back together again.
They opted to exchange vows in grove of trees that looked like it should be frequented by fairies. All the rain we got earlier in the week had the creek full and the foliage super green. It felt more pacific northwest than Colorado! After exchanging vows we headed to a few scenic overlooks and Aspen groves before the couple headed to dinner downtown with family.
