Colorado in the fall in incredible. The aspens turn yellow and golden hour is somehow more golden. The week leading up to Caleb and Tauna’s engagement session we didn’t get a whole lot of sunshine, but somehow we ended up with the most incredible evening and sunset. Tauna is actually a good friend of mine and it was so special to get to capture this special time in her and Caleb’s lives.
This couple met funnily enough through a roommate add on Craigslist 2 and a halfish years ago (I know right! Total New Girl vibes). They both felt because of living together, they shouldn’t date. But life always laughs at our plans doesn’t it? They ended up dating and then getting engaged! Caleb proposed in the middle of a slot canyon in Utah. They’re an incredible pair always going on adventures and buying/renovating new properties that they then sell or rent out. Right before their session they just finished an almost year long remodel on an old Victorian home; which Tauna affectionately refers to as their premarital counseling.
One of my favorite things about these two is how welcoming they are. They turn strangers into friends and just have this crazy cool, warm energy. Even though I only met Tauna for the first time this summer, she’s already a close friend. They also have big dreams, but they actually work to make them happen. Being around people that driven is amazing.
I could have shot this session forever. The changing leaves, the golden light, then the incredible sunset. You don’t often get sessions that are this perfect from start to finish! It was so hard to pick just a few photos to share…because honestly I love all 283 of them.
